7.8 Star NatHERS Rating
The Cove design is based on a U-shaped layout, cradling a tranquil central courtyard which allows for harmonious interaction with nature while ensuring privacy and protection from the high winds of the coastal environment. Utilising a material palette of robust blockwork and Iron Ash hardwood cladding, The Cove is designed to endure the elements with grace and resilience. Inside, exposed concrete blockwork creates a moody ambiance, complemented by timber-lined ceilings and brass fixtures for warmth. A custom pendant light illuminates the dining table, where owners gather on dining chairs that were passed down through generations, celebrating family connection and timeless design.

As a renovation project to an existing heritage home, it can sometimes be challenging to reach our carbon reduction targets. The existing house had a low energy rating due to lack of insulation and high performance glazing, while also being powered by a gas hot water system and heated by a gas-powered hydronic system.
